wkhtmltopdf and lasso 8.5

Anibal Escobar
Hi, still trying to get to the bottom of this.  To recap, this is
Lasso 8.5 on Mac.  I've got lasso generating pdfs via wkhtmltopdf.
The pdf's are product catalogs with pictures.

Everything works out fine when there are few pages in a pdf.  At 5
pages, the wkhtmltopdf process hangs.  I can see it with a ps aux |
grep wkhtmltopd command.  However, when I run the exact same command
from the command line (not as sudo), wkhtmltopdf creates the pdf's
without any hitch.

I'm calling the wkthmltopdf command with:

                                local('cmd'='/usr/bin/wkhtmltopdf-0.9.9-OS-X.i368 '+ $todo);
                                local('shell') = os_process('/bin/bash',array('-c', #cmd));
                                local('out') = #shell->read;
                                !#out->size ? #out = #shell->readerror;
                                #shell->detach;

I'm thinking maybe I can try to run it with something else than /bin/
bash.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Anibal Escobar

Check that you have all your environmental variables set correction in the
Lasso shell. Also check that you are not timing out on your process.

With LP8 you can use PassThru which sets all the env vars for you.

Thanks

Steffan

I'm on 8.5, so it would appear that I can't use PassThru, correct?  Which environmental variables should I check?  Also, I've set Lasso_ExecutionTimeLimit(0)

Thanks,

Re: wkhtmltopdf and lasso 8.5

Anibal Escobar
I just ran the following:

                local('cmd'='env');
                local('shell') = os_process('/bin/bash',array('-c', #cmd));
                local('out') = #shell->read;

and #out is:

PWD=/Applications/Lasso Professional 8/LassoSites/default-1
SHLVL=1
_=/usr/bin/env

from the command line, they are:

MANPATH=/usr/share/man:/usr/local/share/man:/usr/X11/man
TERM=xterm-256color
SHELL=/bin/bash
SSH_CLIENT=10.0.0.1 50678 22
SSH_TTY=/dev/ttys002
USER=user
MAIL=/var/mail/user
PATH=/usr/local/bin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/libexec
PWD=/Users/user
SHLVL=1
HOME=/Users/user
LOGNAME=user
SSH_CONNECTION=10.0.0.1 50678 192.168.1.84 22
_=/usr/bin/env

Which of these should I try to set and how?

Thanks,
Anibal Escobar

You can try PassThru and see if it¹s any better for you.

http://execuchoice.net/files/EC_PassThruMac2.5.8.dmg.tgz

It sets all the env vars for you and works a bit differently.

Thanks

Steffan

Suggest comparing the output between the 'env' command via
os_process and Terminal.  I betcha the missing env var is in
Terminal output.
