ldap auth

French, Shelane
I am wanting to do authentication with an ldap bind, but I am getting an error 13 Confidentiality required which the Google says is that it’s not using SSL. I know I am from the front to the back, but I don’t know about the ldap config. Maybe it’s hidden on the server somewhere? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ RHEL 6.

Re: ldap auth

I ran into this with a Lasso 9 server.
http://lasso.2283332.n4.nabble.com/Does-Lasso-9-ldap-support-ldaps-or-must-I-use-sys-process-td4645554.html

Bug report.

Since LassoSoft never fixed it, we firewalled the port to be
accessible only from one internal machine and continued to use
plain old LDAP.

curl supports LDAPS, but I never pursued it.

Re: ldap auth

French, Shelane
I currently have a custom tag that I wrote that passes username/password to a call from the command line. However, because the username and password have to be put into a string that then makes the call, someone got all over me about it not being secure and that those calls were logged, so therefore, usernames and passwords were being logged. I still have no other way of doing it other than potentially looking into using php to do it and passing results back to Lasso.
