issue with host param on Lasso 8.6?

French, Shelane

I have RHEL 6 with Lasso 8.6.3 trying to do an inline with the –host param, but I keep getting this error recorded: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 113

If I take out the host and put in a Lasso security defined user, it works fine. I have verified the user access information in the host param.

Is the host specified an IP address or a domain (or localhost)?

Are you specifying the port?

Is the MySQL server on the same box as Lasso?

Maybe this will help?

Re: issue with host param on Lasso 8.6?

French, Shelane
So I just migrated with these same settings from a machine with RHEL 5 and Lasso 8.5.3. The host configuration settings for this page are exactly the same. I verified with the DBA that there is no IP restriction for the user. It is specified by domain, with a port (non-standard 3310).

Are you using an IP address or a domain?  If you're using a domain, then
maybe DNS isn't working correctly.  Using an IP address is always the best
method for MySQL as it's faster (no DNS lookup, or DNS failures).

Re: issue with host param on Lasso 8.6?

French, Shelane
So I just checked my dev servers. They have the same host connection (since it’s read only) and it doesn’t get the lost connection error. So, it’s not a Lasso issue.

This; combined with your include_url error suggests that's something is up
with the networking on your machine.

I would try telnetting to the ip + port in question or similar: nc -z
the.ip.address 3310

French, Shelane
Well, my normal lasso security database connections do work. But, I tried as you suggested and got ”Connection to ip.used.here 3310 port [tcp/dyna-access] succeeded!”
