get record id immediately after -add [MySQL]

Duncan S Kincaid
following an inline -add, how does one recover the ID of the just added record?
(datasource is MySQL).

i saw a solution in this forum though it links to a  page no longer available (2006).

with thanks!

Assuming that you use traditional inline method and Lasso 8, and
neither ds nor SQL statements, and that you have specified
-keyfield='id' in your inline:

     field('id');

This is documented in the Lasso Professional 8.6 Language Guide:
http://www.lassosoft.com/_downloads/public/Documentation_and_Guides/Lasso_Professional_8.6/Lasso%208.6%20Language%20Guide.pdf

steve

thanks for your reply.

i am sorry for having given such worthless info along with my request:

SETUP:
Lasso 9.3.1
Using standard inline method (no -SQL).

field(‘id’) returns nothing.

and so i wrote this list…

ciao
