[ann] PB 5.1.1 Update Released

Greg Willits-2
A classic oops release...

I just uploaded version 5.1.1 -- if you already downloaded 5.1.0,
then you need to update to this one.

First, there was a half-baked change to fwpPage_loadTemplate that I
forgot to remove.

Second, there's were a bunch of obsolete refcs to CSS and $fw_myURL I
should have fixed.

Third, I've updated the sample file organization a little to make it
easier for me to do global search & replace to fix things in the
sample files.

Also, if you previously downoaded 5.1.0 via the subversion server --
that was all messed up. I've canned the SVN links for now until I can
get them re-mastered.

Greg are you going to do any pageblocks breakouts or tables at summit?

My Summit Round Table

Greg Willits-2

In general I had planned to focus on generic OOP topics (style &
structure, patterns, refactoring, unit testing, and an introduction
to eXtreme Programming).

I'll likely use pb code as examples (the good parts of it ;-) but I
figured general OOP seemed to be needed more than a pb-specific session.

I wish I had 4-6 hrs to go through lots of things in more detail. I'm
not sure what all I can accomplish in the coming & going format of
the round tables. Not sure whether to stick to short topics that can
be repeated, or treat the time as one long session.

I'd really like to see an advanced session on Friday to counter
balance the newbie session. Semi-structured, semi-round table to
allow both presentation and discussion around OOP topics, and include
a little PageBlocks / framework discussion. Hmm, I wonder if they
have an available room for 20 people or so...

The round table session is loud with everyone in the room chatting, and not conducive to learning.  I spent more time trying to hear what the presenter was saying than trying to understand what it meant.

An advanced Friday session would require a quiet facility, which requires a fee.  A pub would be a silly location for a serious discussion.  Maybe there are some quiet lunch or dinner meeting locations that don't have loud, headache-inducing, thumpa-thumpa music.

Huh? Some of the most serious discussions I've ever had took place in
pubs. Solved problems like third world debt, poverty, global
warming...

Then again, I do live in Ireland ;-)

I agree with you, Steve. It was very hard to focus during the round table
sessions unless you were within one seat of the presenter.

I would welcome any additional training in Lasso OOP with Greg. Sounds very
cool, indeed.
