X-Frame-Options

French, Shelane
Has anyone configured pages or their server to manage the X-Frame-Options
header? Getting a security scan on my server revealed I did not have this
set to prevent against clickjacking attempts. It looks like you can set it
in the Apache config, but I'm wondering if you can also set it with Lasso
to send with header info.

In Lasso 9, adding HTTP response headers is safe and fun:

http://www.lassosoft.com/lassoDocs/languageReference/obj/web_response/addHeader

In Lasso 8, not so much:
     http://www.lassosoft.com/lassoDocs/languageReference/obj/Content_Header

Brad

Why would you want to tax Lasso with that when your link tells you how to
do it at the http server level where it should be done?

Thanks

Is there a specific place in the config file where it should go?

Re: X-Frame-Options

Bil Corry-3
You probably already know, but if you add the XFO header, modern browsers
will no longer allow your site to be framed, which usually isn't a problem,
but sometimes parts of sites are framed as widgets, dashboards, search
portals, etc.  You'll hear about it pretty quickly if you add the XFO
header and there were legitimate framing use cases.

For older browsers, it's still recommended to add the framebusting
JavaScript to the page, unless your audience no longer use older browsers.

Re: X-Frame-Options

French, Shelane
I was planning on setting this:

Header always append X-Frame-Options SAMEORIGIN

There really shouldn't be anyone framing our site into theirs. And I am
the only developer on this particular server.

Re: X-Frame-Options

Steffan A. Cline
You just put that into your virtual host declaration:

<VirtualHost *>
DocumentRoot "/Library/WebServer/Documents/blah"
ServerName blah.local
Header always append X-Frame-Options SAMEORIGIN

<Directory "/Library/WebServer/Documents/blah">
allow from all
Options +Indexes
</Directory>
Include /private/etc/apache2/other/mod_lasso9.conf
</VirtualHost>

Thanks

Steffan
