Unresponsive Databases

Duane Hannan
About every two weeks at random times a couple databases, always the same ones, stop responding.  Lasso continues to run the page code and continues to access the rest of the databases.  I restart the computer and the missing databases reappear.  MacMini 10.12.6, MySql 5.6.26, Lasso 8.6.3.
Anyone seen such a problem or have suggestions?

Thanks.

You should try to capture the error coming from MySQL when it stops working
in Lasso, and/or you can check your MySQL logs for errors.  That will help
narrow the problem.

Typically when MySQL stops responding, it affects all databases on the
MySQL instance and is due to max_connections being exceeded, but I don't
think that's what is happening here.  That's where having the error will
help, but just in case, you can start here:

Thanks for your response, Bil.  A pretty basic question, but where do I find the appropriate logs?

Re: Unresponsive Databases

Duane Hannan
Thanks for your kind advice.  LassoErrors.txt reveals a 2013 error. I’m tracking that down.

Re: Unresponsive Databases

stevepiercy
MySQL error code 2013 is a lost connection.  That may be a
symptom of a long-running query exceeding the connection read
timeout (more likely) or something else (less likely).  Complex
queries, returning a lot of data, or searches on multiple
columns that lack an index are common causes for long-running queries.

You might want to turn on MySQL's slow query log to identify such.
