Ubuntu Repo problems?

Dave Bruhn
Hey, everyone,

Is anyone else having troubles running an apt-get update with the Lasso repo added?  I'm getting the following error:

W: GPG error: http://debianrepo.lassosoft.com stable Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 06CD0986C81BB1C1

Thanks,
Dave

Re: Ubuntu Repo problems?

Eric gave some instructions on how to fix this, but I'm still facing the issue that 9.2.7-7 is not in the repo anymore.  At least, not since I last checked.

Re: Ubuntu Repo problems?

Dave Bruhn
Wait, I may be wrong now.  It appears that 9.2.7-7 is back in the repo.

I'll test this out later.  Thanks, guys!

Re: Ubuntu Repo problems?

Dave Bruhn
In reply to this post by Ari Denison
Here are the aforementioned instructions from Eric Knibbe:

I've implemented secure apt on the LassoSoft Debian/Ubuntu repository. This got rid of error messages about unverified package sources when installing or updating, but had the side effect of requiring everyone using those repositories to update their configurations. Two steps are needed:

1. Import the LassoSoft public key (since apt-get isn't smart enough to do so automatically):
        curl http://debianrepo.lassosoft.com/lassosoft-public.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -

This address the error "The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY".

2. Re-add the repository to your list of sources, specifying that only 64-bit packages should be checked:
        sudo add-apt-repository "deb [arch=amd64] http://debianrepo.lassosoft.com/ stable main"

This addresses the error "Unable to find expected entry 'main/binary-i386/Packages' in Release file (Wrong sources.list entry or malformed file)".

I've updated the instructions at <http://debianrepo.lassosoft.com> and <http://www.lassosoft.com/Lasso-9-3-release-notes?> accordingly.
