Re: Lasso 8 performance issue - solved

Alexander Dewilde

After poking around in the settings and bearing Alan's suggestion in mind, it seems you need to set the security settings for a database to 'allow', instead of the default 'ignore'.

According to the documentation, ignore will not allow sql execution but will execte lasso code. This is not true, sql code is executed perfectly, but you get a delay of about 30 msec for each inline. (I don't see why lasso needs 30 msec to figure out what to do with an anon user? even if everything is granted)

It would be nice to have database settings to default to allow for fresh installs. I guess many lasso developers are unaware of this (nothing fails but only delays), and the speed penalty is remarkable.

I've allways had a hard time with all the security settings. Allow / ignore / assigned (what does this do?) and so on.
