Pop-Up Calendar Value Not being Added to DB

Yescas, Alejandro
Hello All,

I have JavaScript calendar pop-up date picker and I'm not able to get Lasso to add the value.  I'm able to make the Calendar pop-up and insert the value, but the value won't add. Other values add just fine.  Not sure if it has to do with having two form tags, but they are not nested.  No Errors codes from lasso. “Web_DOM" is the field name which needs needs to be added. Here is the code:

<form name="tstest" method="post”>

<input type="Text" name="Web_DOM" value="">

<a href="javascript:show_calendar
('document.tstest.Web_DOM', document.tstest.Web_DOM.value);”>

<img src="cal.gif" width="16" height="16" border="0" alt="Click Here to Pick up the timestamp"></a>
</form>

<form action="update.lasso" method="POST">

</form>
--------------------------------------------------------
Response Page(update.lasso):

  [Inline(
        -add,
        -Database='DBName',
        -Table='Web_Incoming',
        -KeyField='ID',
        -keyvalue=Web_request->param('keyvalue'),
        'Email'=Web_request->param('Email'),
        'Web_DOM'=Web_request->param('Web_DOM')

        )]

————————————————————————————

Thank you so much !!!

RE: Pop-Up Calendar Value Not being Added to DB

Rick Draper-2
Hi Alejandro,

Have you output what value is being passed to the response page?  My guess
is the format be sent is not compatible with the field type.

Just a separate issue, it is quite risky to be putting value from
web_request directly into a database without first doing some validation.

Very best regards,

Rick

It probably is related to having 2 independent forms.

The form tstest which has the calendar value has no action, so where is it supposed to be sending it's data to? It's going to post back to the same URL as the current page. And the 2nd form with action="update.lasso" has no inputs to send, so update.lasso should be receiving no data.

Unless you have simplified your example too much, which is possible because I don't see anyway to submit either form.

Why isn't the calendar input part of the 2nd form?

Pop-Up Calendar Value Not being Added to DB

Thank you Wade and Rick I got it to work.  I did simplified the example by only showing the code where I thought the problem was.  The issue was having 2 independent form tags as you mentioned Wade.  I simply combine the two form tags to a single one and it works perfectly, now I need to format the date value, thank you so much.

<form action="update.lasso" method="POST" name="sample form”>

* I’m using "sample form” because I downloaded a new JS pop-up calendar.

Re: Pop-Up Calendar Value Not being Added to DB

stevepiercy
I have a demo, article, and code repo of the demo, all of which
uses a date picker and submits and processes the date value.  It
can be easily adapted for your purposes.

That's good to hear.

Now you can do something to help me.

When continuing a topic please reply to an appropriate previous message in the thread, rather than creating a new message from scratch and adding a similar subject.  Creating a whole new message breaks the thread of the conversation and makes it hard for mail clients and the list archive to keep everything related.
