Oracle Instant Client installer issues

shelane
I tried installing the Oracle Instant Client so I can use Lasso's (8.5)
oracle connector. It says there were errors installing the software and to
try again. I did with the same error. Something I'm missing?

Re: Oracle Instant Client installer issues

To be more specific:

server: OS X 10.4 and OS X 10.5.

I also downloaded the zipped file from Oracle that contains everything. I'm
not sure where to place the files now.

Re: Oracle Instant Client installer issues

I could never get it to work on the intel OS X platform.  It only
worked on the PPC OS X machines I had.  Lasso Tech Supt even told me
it was a dead end on the newer intel Mac Pro boxes I have.  They said
Oracle did not write the intel connector before lasso 8.5 was
released.  Therefore Lasso had no idea what the intel connector was
like hence it has been a no go.  So I have had to use Navicat to pull
Oracle data and load it into another database and then read it with
Lasso.  Not my ideal solution.

Re: Oracle Instant Client installer issues

My machines are still PPC.

So there is no way on any intel box to use Lasso to connect to Oracle? This
seems suboptimal.

Trevor Borgmeier
Not sure about LP8.5, but it should work with LP9 -- and LP9 is optimal. :)
