[OT] Blog and Guestbook Recommedations?

Tami Williams
Don't need a Lasso solution, trying to help someone out who just
wants to plug in a blog and guestbook to existing web sites.

Questions:

- what do you recommend?
- what are the steps to get a blog  / guestbook to look like a part
of an existing web site (can you recommend blogs and guestbooks that
let you totally customize the "skins"?)

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I know I should be recommending lasso but ... I need something that:
  a) already exists
b) can be made to look exactly like the existing site so users don't
know that they're using some outside app (if possible)
c) is easy to install/configure/add to an existing site

Hei,

As for blogware in general, I guess WordPress is still the most popular.
It's very feature-rich, though, could be even intimidating for a
newbie-blogger.

I would probably use LassoBlogger (if only because I wrote it myself and
thus know the code well, and because I don't know php) - though there is no
guestbook functionality. LB is simple enough to install and to use, but on
the other hand it lacks many features. The  is fully customizable by
tweaking stylesheet (themes/defaults/style.css) and the html template
(gen/framework.inc). The admin pages have a separate style sheet.

The style.css (taken from WordPress v1.5, if I remember correctly) used to
be very obscure, but I restructured it for the newest LB version (0.9.0), so
now it's simpler.

Waters, Thomas C
We are using the built-in blog server on OS X 10.5 but no guestbook
feature.

I've used Lasso Blogger for about 5 sites now, it has features similar
to older versions of wordpress.
