Lasso on Docker?

Pier Kuipers
Hi All,

Been lurking for months, but time for a question - re Lasso 8.6.
We're planning to move our development and production environment to Docker
(on AWS for production), but I have a funny feeling I'll run into trouble
with Lasso 8.6.

Has anyone here made any attempt in this area?

Thanks!

Pier

Not Lasso 8 sorry — Lasso 9 yes.

That said; you should able to do so in a fairly straight forward manner by
starting with Lasso 8.x in console mode.

Thanks Ke, I'll explore the console mode and see how far I get :-)

Best regards

Re: Lasso on Docker?

Peter D Bethke
Yes - I use a platform called Aldryn, which is made by the guys behind DjangoCMS. For local development they use docker to replicate their server environment - they also have a local command line tool that manages it all, including set-set git repos that mirror local updates remotely. Its pretty cool.

I found the local copy-to-docker image thing a little difficult to get my head around, plus remembering to use the docker-machine command to bash into the local image instead of my local setup to run migrations, etc. But once I got the hang of it it was much better.

Plus - the whole idea is sound - if it runs locally, it will run remotely - thats a big benefit.

Re: Lasso on Docker?

Mark J. Reed
Note that you no longer need docker-machine; Docker now runs natively on
Mac OS and Windows.
