Lasso 8.6 internal database

Patrick Larkin-3
Hello -

One of my servers is giving this error when I enter the Email utility area of Lasso Admin. I sent this to “[hidden email]” a year ago and did not get sort of response on what to do.  The server does not appear to be sending email.

An error has occurred processing SiteAdmin.LassoApp:
database disk image is malformed (11)
Details: Mac OS X 8.6.0, 2014-09-30 14:21:52, utility email email
Please report this complete error to [hidden email].

I uninstalled Lasso and reinstalled expecting to restore my settings from a backup.  When I fired up Lasso Admin, all the settings were still there including the error message.  If uninstalling Lasso is not fixing this, what can I do????

PLEASE NOTE:  My e-mail address has changed to:  [hidden email]

That looks like an error from SQLite, not Lasso.  A quick search
turned up this potential solutions.
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=database+disk+image+is+malformed+(11)

You can issue commands to SQLite through the Lasso SiteAdmin
Database Browser.

It also sounds like the uninstaller did not uninstall the SQLite
databases used by Lasso in the Application folder, especially
since you said your "settings were still there".

Re: Lasso 8.6 internal database

Hmmm, I uninstalled Lasso 8 and manually deleted the SQLLite folder and emptied the trash.  I reinstalled 8.6 and the settings and malformed database error are still there.

Is anyone from Lassosoft around?  It says to email this to “bugs” and I need to get this resolved.

Re: Lasso 8.6 internal database

gzasuwa
I would trash the whole Lasso folder (keep a backup for Lasso Tech Support) then re-install.
I would also call Lasso Tech Support instead of reporting a bug.  Tech Support should call you to resolve the issue.

Re: Lasso 8.6 internal database

Peter D Bethke
In reply to this post by Patrick Larkin-3
Hi Patrick,

I went through this routine recently when a client had their email log filled up by a friendly spammer. The solution was to create a new site instance (which created a new sqllite db) and then start using that. We never were able to fix the DB itself.

IIRC that error an also be caused by a permissions issue. You may want to make sure that the db and the folder its in has the correct read/write permissions, or disk space running out (unlikely). There is a command in sqlite called “vacuum” I believe which can rebuild the db much like MySQL can attempt to do. A quick google like Steve said will show lots of cases of folks with this same error.

Make sure that if you are removing an sqllite db that its in the correct instance folder in the lasso parent folder if you are using multiple instances.

Peter
