Lasso 8.6 and OSX Mojave

Lee Glickenhaus-2
Has anyone gotten Lasso 8.6 to work with OSX Mojave?  Apache is throwing this error, which seems pretty fundamental but hoping someone has a workaround:

Library Validation failed: Rejecting '/usr/local/libexec/apache2/Lasso8ConnectorforApache2.4.so' (Team ID: none, platform: no) for process 'httpd(2293)' (Team ID: none, platform: yes), reason: mapped file has no cdhash, completely unsigned? Code has to be at least ad-hoc signed.

Thanks

lee

Yes it is.

Also install the legacy version of Java, in case you upgraded by mistake.

*grumble* that one legacy client should not be an admin *grumble*

In reply to this post by Lee Glickenhaus-2
Hi Lee,

Not sure if you've resolve this yet. After adding a few grey hairs I've manage to get it working, under macOS 10.14 Mojave I have FileMaker Server 17, Apache 2.4, Lasso 8.6 and Lasso 9.3 all working on the same box. It was helpful to install Mojave as a VM under Parallels as a sandbox.

My goal is to replicate a Linux CentOS 6 server entirely under macOS, with the addition of FMS. There are still hurdles to make this a production box, but so far so good. macOS is not the ideal server OS, but configs from Linux server are almost identical.

Happy to share the cheatsheet I made during the process, in short I used Homebrew to install Apache (to keep it safe from OS updates ruining it):

        https://help.macstadium.com/articles/how-to-install-apache-mysql-and-php-using-homebrew-on-macos

After disabling SIP Lasso 8.6 installed just fine:

        https://iboysoft.com/kb/disable-system-integrity-protection-macos.html

Re-enabling SIP didn't seem to cause any issues. This was a handy old post to get Lasso launching properly after reboot (thanks Steve and Trevor):

        http://lasso.2283332.n4.nabble.com/Lasso-8-6-will-not-automatically-start-on-reboot-Mac-OS-X-10-10-Yosemite-td4643222.html#a4643231

If you go with the Homebrew install of Apache Lasso8ConnectorforApache2.4 goes here, /usr/local/Cellar/httpd/2.4.38/lib/httpd/modules, and the Apache "LoadModule" directive in lasso8.conf needs to be updated to that directory as well.

HTH,
Max

Many thanks Max!! Kind of you to post this.

I’d actually given up and just carried on with High Sierra, my tolerance for frustration ain’t what it used to be.  But now?  Now, I’m on it.

Re: Lasso 8.6 and OSX Mojave

maxwellk2
Glad it's helpful, here's the full cheatsheet so far, not 100% perfect but should get you over most of the annoying humps. Let me know if you find anything incorrect or that could be improved….

----------------------

Install FMS17
        • Edit FMS17 Apache files to use ports 8080 and 4433
        • /Library/Filemaker server/HTTPServer/conf/httpd.conf
        • /Library/Filemaker server/HTTPServer/conf/extra/httpd-ssl.conf

Install Homebrew & Apache
        • https://help.macstadium.com/articles/how-to-install-apache-mysql-and-php-using-homebrew-on-macos
        • Change ports to 80 and 443
        • Make sure Apache launches at BOOT instead of LOGIN: #sudo brew services start httpd

Install TextWrangler from App Store, then command line tools...
        • https://www.barebones.com/support/textwrangler/cmd-line-tools.html

Install Java legacy
        • https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572?locale=en_US

Install Xquarts
        • https://www.xquartz.org

Disable SIP
        • https://iboysoft.com/kb/disable-system-integrity-protection-macos.html

Install Lasso 8.6.3
        • http://www.lassosoft.com/_downloads/public/Lasso_Server/Mac/Lasso_Professio…
        • Copy Lasso8ConnectorforApache2.4.so to /usr/local/Cellar/httpd/2.4.38/lib/httpd/modules
        • Copy lasso8.conf to /usr/local/etc/httpd/others/
        • Edit line #7 of lasso8.conf to read "LoadModule lasso8_module lib/httpd/modules/Lasso8ConnectorforApache2.4.so" OR enable it once in httpd.conf
        • Add this line to the bottom of /usr/local/etc/httpd/httpd.conf "Include /usr/local/etc/httpd/other/lasso8.conf" OR add it to <vhost>

Fix Lasso startup issues (thanks Steve and Trevor)
        • http://lasso.2283332.n4.nabble.com/Lasso-8-6-will-not-automatically-start-on-reboot-Mac-OS-X-10-10-Yosemite-td4643222.html#a4643231
        • /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.lassosoft.lasso8.plist
-------------------------------------------------
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

    <array>
      <string>/Applications/Lasso Professional 8/LassoAdmin/Lasso8Service.sh</string>
    </array>
  </dict>
</plist>
        • sudo chown root:wheel com.lassosoft.lasso8.plist
        • Remove /Library/StartupItems/LassoPro8

Enable SIP
        • https://iboysoft.com/kb/disable-system-integrity-protection-macos.html

Reboot
        • Confirm Apache and Lasso 8.6 are working without having to log into user

Re: Lasso 8.6 and OSX Mojave

Jerad Hoff-2
You’re very kind to provide your detailed cheatsheet. With Lasso being abandoned, folks like me who want to hang on as long as we can really benefit from you sharing your knowledge.

Does anyone know if this process would work with Lasso 8.5.6 as well? I never upgraded to 8.6 and buying a dead product for a non-profit seems like a bad idea.
