Lasso 8.5.6 on CentOS 6 ?

JPK_ESYSTEMES
Hi,

I tried to install Lasso 8.5.6 on a CentOS 6.
Unfortunatly after installing the Lasso_Pro_8.5.6_Lin pack found on lassosoft.com my Lasso Service couldn't start.
So, when I tried to launch the service, the console return that the service is correctly started.
However, when I can't access to the Lasso Server Admin, and the command "sudo service --status-all" return :

Lasso Service is not running

I have no info in logs, so I don't know what's happen.

Here's my question : Is it possible to install Lasso 8.5 or Lasso 8.6 on CentOS 6.
And if it is. Is anyone have any idea why my Lasso Service couldn't start ?

Thanks.

FYI CentOS 6 is not officially supported for any Lasso 8.x version
Please see the supported versions chart - http://www.lassosoft.com/Versions

Only Lasso 9 works on CentOS 6.

I spent a LOT of hours getting 8.6 to work on CentOS 6. I had it working
except I gave up on trying to make it see the Java resources.

Perhaps, had there been funding, I would have continued to hack at it. ;-)

Thanks

Can you use a Lasso Variable in a Javascipt function??

Michael Benedict
Simple example.. Here is what I was trying to do.  I simply want to define a
Javascript that uses Lasso Variables.

window.opener.location.href="[$VarOne]?-Token.session_ID=[$VarTwo]

Is this possible?

Thanks

Michael

It is indeed and we use it a lot. There are some caveats.
Lasso code won't run within html comments.
You can encounter conflicts with dual usage of square brackets. Lasso uses them as well as javascript.
Some attention need to be put on how you use quotes. Basically decide if javascript or Lasso should use single and the other double. If that's not enough then use escaping where needed.

Marc,
Well I figured it out. But only because you said it would work.
Many thanks.

I had a freaking comment out in the Function and Lasso couldn't see it ....
lol

Yes,

Simple example from our application:
<script>
var ses = "[$usr_session]";
var group = "[$user_group_selected]";
</script>
