Lasso 8.5.5 problem with access to MySQL

Trevor Jacques
I've just noticed something weird with 8.5.5. It does not seem to
want to recognise new db structures in MySQL, no matter how many
times I refresh the connexion.

I've tried manually creating the db for databases that exist in the
Lasso set up, and Lasso recognises the presence of the db, but not of
the tables in it, only the tables that existed previously in the
Lasso set up. I'm not sure which version of the betas changed this,
since I've not created dbs in my testing of the betas for quite a
while.

Anyone else had this problem or know of a workaround?

Thanks.

T.

Do you need to give access o the new db's to the account Lasso uses?

I have a MySQL table that shows up in one type of query, but not in
another, saying it doesn't have security.  Have you tried viewing
your items using console mode?

No. There was a previous definition for the db in Lasso's set up.
When the db is not in MySQL, Lasso says it's not available. When I
create an empty db of the appropriate name, Lasso says that the db is
there, but it does not see the table structure correctly: it only
'remembers' the previous settings for a db of that name.

Given the above, there seems to be more to this. It's just that I
don't have a clue what.... :-/

Just tried it and got this when refreshing the db list:

Seems like it might pay me to delete the Lasso internal database
completely. Thoughts?

Might want to look at it using SQLite toolz.  Or a reinstall after
exporting the tables.

This is a test server. I think it might be easier for me to blow
Lasso away, and start again....

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm off to bed early, today.

yup . wee see this. os x server 10.5.2, apache 2, lasso 8.5.5.

console start shows same errors yours does.
i.e lots of errors of form:
SQL Lite Error: 1 SQL logic error or missing database while
executing ...
SQL Lite Error: 1 cannot commit - no transaction is active...
etc

any solutions apart from blowing everything away?

thanks

Re: Lasso 8.5.5 problem with access to MySQL

Viaduct Productions
Apparently 10.5.2 server is > 210 issues "half baked".  Before we
jump to conclusions about Lasso, let's wait for 10.5.3.  Last note
was that it had an indicative last seed to developers last week, and
addressed < 10 issues, so it's almost ripe.  Given that the 10.5.2
release is so ... "MS like", let's give a wee bit of time for the
Leopard Server to hold its own before asking Lasso to comply.  It's a
matter of days, as I take it.

On that note, I want to say that Lasso developers should be really be
on top of the development cycle of the OS'es which Lasso can be
deployed, formally supported and otherwise.  The tech site should be
a fine place to be able to post OS related updates with regards to
those items that pertain to Lasso.

Actually, any RSS feeds that give some kind of indication of any
progression of any potential OS, could be given its own
representative feed in that Wiki.  I mean, cmon, Lasso can do it
perfectly.

the fix (in our case) was to correct the permissions on the SQLiteDbs...
specifically, user 'lasso' has RW privs.

oops.

thanks to shawn of lasso tech support to nail this one in seconds.
