Lasso 8.1 / iTools 8 / Apache 2

Marc Pinnell-3
Afternoon all!

Setting up a new server and having a small problem. I moved the Lasso
folder into the Tenon>Webserver>docs folder and I have managed to get
the Lasso module to load, but when I type 127.0.0.1/serveradmin.lasso
into the browser I am getting 404 not found errors. Any ideas?

TIA,
Marc

Marc,

You shouldn't move the Lasso folder. With Lasso 8.1 and higher, the
admin LassoApps don't live in the web root, they live in the Lasso
Professional 8 folder, normally installed in /Applications.

Normally the installer would take care of adding an alias in your
httpd.conf to redirect requests appropriately, but since you are using
iTools (I haven't messed with that in years) you will probably have to
do it manually.

If you want my two cents, ditch iTools and use OS X's built-in Apache
anyway, but to each his own...

HTH,
Jason

I have to agree with you Jason, we tried the iTools route, and it was
"buggy" plus we found ourselves still having to set things up in the conf
files anyway that iTools never would. Even though the new version may have
some of the problems worked out, I am not sure I would trust it. I would
certainly do it manually in Apache 2, leave out iTools and then know things
are correctly set up.
