Lame currency question

Keith M. Rettig
How do I get the output to have a comma for the separator so that instead of $ 500248.00 I get $ 500,248.00?
Safari on Yosemite, FMS 13v9, Lasso 9.2 on Apache, on various Mac devices.

[currency(field(’sales::day_revenue_summary'))]

Last posting about this topic was 2012 with no apparent conclusion other than “this is weird” because people were experiencing different formats.

Thanks,
Keith.

This is what I got from reading the manual ;-)

local(
        myLocale = locale('en', 'US'),
        myDollar = currency(500248.00)
)

#myLocale -> format(#myDollar)

-> $500,248.00
