LSfE - run/debug launch stuck

Nikolaj de Fine Licht
When I choose to run or debug a file in Navigator it often happens that
the launching progress window stays at 50% for about 30-60 seconds,
nothing happens (it neither runs or debugs, including it doesn't change
to the debug prespective), and then the launching progress disappears.

Why would this happen?

Nikolay,

I had a similar problem - this may work for you.

Bring up the Run->Run dialog and click on the debugging tab and make sure
the the Debugger Listen Address and Port are appropriate for your machine
and that there isn't a firewall etc. in the way. I was using a remote Lasso
server to run code against and had that machines IP in rather than the
machine that I was running Eclipse on - doh!

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the answer!

I checked the Run Setup and it is set to it's defaults, which should be
fine since I'm testing on a local machine and not connected to any
network.

However, it DID help to deselect Run->Common->Launch In Background,
which it also should be according to the manual, because now I get the
feedback up front, which showed me that the problem seems to be a File
Not Found 404-thingy. This kind of error makes the Run Process hang for
about 20 seconds before exiting.

This, however, doesn't really bring me further because the file in
question IS in place on the path specified by Eclipse, you know, it
says "File not found /<domain>/inc/myfile.inc", but this is exactly the
correct path to the file...

So, uh, I'm stuck again. Running the same files in a normal browser
doesn't give any error of this kind (File not found), so it's obviously
an Eclipse-problem.

Welcome to the club. Not having much luck either with LSFE debug.

Over on the Lasso Studio Talk mailing list, instructions for downloading a new beta of Lasso Studio for Eclipse 1.0.1 have been distributed.  That mailing list is the preferred place to discuss Lasso Studio issues.

You can read the announcement at the following URL.  However, if you are going to test out the beta, please do join the Lasso Studio Talk mailing list so you can receive announcements of future beta releases.  <http://www.listsearch.com/lassostudiotalk.lasso?id=3067>.

Sorry, I simply missed that completely. There have been so much fuzz
about LSfE on LassoTalk so I just continued posting there...
