LS for Eclipse install error retrieving WSDL

Michael Collins
I am trying to get started with Eclipse, I first uninstalled Lasso 8
and then Installed Eclipse, Enterprise Workbench, and
Lasso_Studio_1.0.0_Eclipse. I also installed the Eclipse components
into a new site using:

Name - Lasso Studio for Eclipse
URL - http://eclipse.omnipilot.com/

My serial number has been entered. I have chosen Lasso to be the perspective.

I cannot get the Run configuration to work. I right click on the name
of a .lasso file in the navigator and choose Run->Run... Then I
select Lasso Script and add a New configuration. When I click on Test
Configuration I get the message:

"An error occurred while retrieving the WSDL data from the Lasso server):
http://localhost/RPC.LassoApp?WSDL

Do you get the WSDL when you hit that URL in a browser?

If so, does it contain references to Eclipse (near the bottom, stuff
like 'eclipsePing')? And have you created a user/pass for the Eclipse
group in Site Admin?

If not, can you hit it with 127.0.0.1? Or some other IP or domain name
if you have one configured?

Everything is running locally, nothing special is configured, I
usually use "localhost":

http://localhost/RPC.LassoApp?WSDL

or

http://127.0.0.1/RPC.LassoApp?WSDL

returns:

Error Message:  The file "/RPC.LassoApp" was not found or was
disabled due to security restrictions.
Error Code:  -9984
  Response:  /RPC.LassoApp

g5:~ mcollins$ locate RPC.LassoApp

Did you set up a user and password for the Eclipse group in Lasso?

Hello Michael,

Afetr installing 8.0.4

This message from Kyle help me do a check

===================================================
You need the files local, but not the databases.

a) Make sure you have EclipseSupport.LassoApp in LassoStartup on your
Lasso server
b) make sure you have Debugger_DBGp.dylib in LassoModules on your Lasso
server
c) Insure that Lasso has been restarted
d) Make sure you properly added the desired user to the "Lasso Studio
for Eclipse Users" group and use that same username and password in the
Eclipse launch configuration.
e) Make sure that the "Lasso Script HTML Result" view is showing
f) Start with a simple test page such as [date], right click on the
file and choose Run > Lasso Script Run

If you don't see the current date or proper result from your test page,
launch LassoService in Console mode and capture what you see in the
console as you again select Run > Lasso Script Run and send it when you
reply to this message.

Where exactly is this? Do you mean the Run dialog under the Lasso
Script configuration? Yes, that is the same.

>e) Make sure that the "Lasso Script HTML Result" view is showing

Didn't realize I needed that, but it does not make a difference,
still get error:

Errors Running Operations
Launching (Error: http://localhost/RPC.LassoApp?WSDL)

>f) Start with a simple test page such as [date], right click on the

I created that simple test script, same error.

There is no error logged to the console when I do Run and get that
error in Eclipse. However, I do see an error when initializing Lasso
that might be relevant:

[05/23/05 12:30:54][1] RPC: Defining Introspection Methods
[05/23/05 12:30:54][1] Updating host permissions for host 2 and group 3

*** malloc: vm_allocate(size=1342177280) failed (error code=3)
*** malloc[22647]: error: Can't allocate region
[05/23/05 12:31:24][1] -1 UNKNOWN EXCEPTION while running startup
script "EclipseSupport.LassoApp".

Puzzling. Try moving the EclipseSupport app out of startup and
restart Lasso. Can you then successfully hit this url:

http://127.0.0.1/RPC.LassoApp?WSDL

?
