How do you do OSX VMs?

Jolle Carlestam-2
With the arrival of Lasso 9.3 beta my need for running versions of OSX in my local hardware becomes imminent. To allow me to run a setup with 9.2 and another with 9.3.
How do you folks do OSX VMs?

I use Parallels Desktop, and one of the default options they give you is
to make an OS X VM using your recovery partition.

Here's their guide showing two different ways to do it for 10.9 (I don't
think 10.10 would have changed much, but might require the latest
version of Parallels):

I use VMware Fusion.  I don¹t have OS X virtual machines, but others in our
office do.

I've used VMWare Fusion 5.xsomething to set up a 10.6 Server VM (for Quicken 2007). That was the only version of OS X allowed to be virtualised until recently.  Fusion 7 says it plays nice with OS X Yosemite, both as main OS and as a guest OS. I'd suggest trying out the trial version. 8)

Can't you run Lasso on Linux? Vagrant on Virtualbox is nifty.
