Good Calendar Examples

Clint Roberts
Does anyone have URLs of good Lasso-driven Calendar Examples? Stuff like
roll-over text to show entire event information when hovering, etc. would be
really neat.

I look forward to seeing some examples!

In reply to this post by Clint Roberts
Steven Evans has been working on one using Marc's code.

We have one , also using Marc's code, which allows both input and
clicking on the event to see the information.

I can send a link and see if you are interested, when I get back to
the office.

Same for me also,

I have a calendar example in a work-in-progress project for an online
hairdresser app here:

http://www.quadriform.com/hairdressing/index.html

It is loosely based on the sample Duncan Cameron did for LP5, its
linear and is colour coded based on stylist choice and work days of
that stylist. Move forward (Max 6 months) using the right arrow on
the extreme end of the calendar. The default start is the next
working day!

Ben Spink has written an Apple script application that publishes your
iCal in HTML tables.

http://www.ical2web.com/

I have modified his html templates to include lasso code to append
events from a mysql table to the items rerported from iCal.

This of course is not for interactive usage and is limited to
publishing the calendar.

Fits my customer's needs and budget of producing his event calendar. It
needs refreshing just a few times a week.

I am waiting for LJAX to insert ajaxified pop-ups that are now links to
a new smaller browser window for event descriptions

If you want the lasso templates  send me an email.
(they might be available on Ben's site soon)

My templates are free of course.

It uses html tables, but with css.

Re: Good Calendar Examples

Bret Williams
In reply to this post by Clint Roberts
We built a CTag for showing calendars, either vertically or
horizontally, with any dates highlighted:
http://tagswap.net/nCtag_Calendar

While it doesn't provide roll-over pop-ups on events, it might help
you get started. You can see it in action at http://
www.discoverweimar.com

Click on "Local Events" on the home page (the calendar on the home
page is one, too). It shows the current month and the next 2 months
(the CTag can show as many months as you specify). Clicking on one of
the events shown will highlight the dates for that event on the event
detail page.

It's not too elaborate, but hopefully it might be of some use.

This is someone who is using lasso. Since we have a tennis
application it might be a business opportunity. Is it anyone on the
list?

Re: Good Calendar Examples

Andreas Steinmann
In reply to this post by Clint Roberts
This one is very simple:

http://www.natfilm.dk/m.lasso

As we are running the festival, this calendar is somehow crowded.

However, you can narrow the search like looking for specific films like

http://www.natfilm.dk/m.lasso?f=Proposition

or you can narrow the search looking for one cinema only:

http://www.natfilm.dk/m.lasso?c=grand

However, we're not really using this solution on the public site -
it's maybe too complex so far...

This is a one-page solution build on Marc Popes code (2003), I found
years ago in this list (there was this one and a mini calendar too).
Calendars are generated from today's date or a date in the link (see
links for next and previous month).

Thanks, Marc!

Than there is a joint lookup for events in an event database and in a
database with information on the films.

All the best from Copenhagen,
Andreas
