Email Queue

Patrick Larkin-2
I'm running Lasso 8.6 on MacOS X 10.7 Server and my email queue keeps stopping with this error:

Last Error: Warning 0
Time: 2014-01-29 13:36:33
Message: SMTP: [27] Failed to connect to host "10.135.1.7".

We have a few different mail servers and I tried each of them with the same result.  I've tried IP and hostname.

Any way to fix this or is this one of those unresolved Lasso mail issues?

(I have to stop and start the Lasso service to make the queue empty.)

Trevor just posted a possible fix.  Read this thread.

Report results.  More testers, better verification.

Re: Email Queue

Reading the entire thread, this server is in a rack and is never logged out.  I connect to it with ARD and the only time it's is logged out or in is when it is rebooted, which is not often.

Re: Email Queue

If you use ARD to start/stop Lasso, then the thread is absolutely relevant.

Read that entire thread very carefully and do not dismiss it.  Specifically:

Re: Email Queue

Patrick Larkin-2
I only start and stop Lasso when the email queue freaks out which seems to be every 4 hours or so.

I tried the fix and it still reacts exactly the same way.

I ran the same email intensive application on a G5 MacPro running 10.5.8 Server last year and had no issue.  The current server is 10.7.5 on an Intel quad core Xeon.

Re: Email Queue

Patrick Larkin-2
One difference I didn't note.  The server I used last year was Lasso 8.5 and Lasso 8.6 is on the new current box that is having issues.
