IS there an easy way to clear the session memory from lasso?

What sort of sessions are you using?

I'm not sure about Lasso9 but if you are on Lasso 8.6, you might try in the 8.6 admin under Site::Sessions.  There, you can clear "Expired" sessions, and set a time.  So I would imagine if you set the time to 1 minute, that would clear your sessions (and thus memory I would guess).

Sorry - I didn't mean sessions I really meant the Lasso8Service memory
usage?  I guess the only way is to stop and restart Lasso to flush
it.  This is on 8.5.6.
I stop and restart it everyday with a launchd plist at 4:30 AM.

With 8.5.6 that's the only way.
There are some things in that version that cause memory to balloon, and many of these have been fixed in Lasso 8.6.

The real question is why is it consuming so much RAM?  Large
session data?  Globals?  Writing to hugemongous files?

Like Jono said, 8.6 will fix some issues, but usually the issue
is from inefficient programming.

Re: Clearing session memeory

There are quite a few places where if you are not aware of the impact of stuff you're "just going to do it"... and find out later.
As I said, 8.6 sorts out a lot of these things, but Steve's correct, there are some things you just don't do.

I don't know for sure, but is launchd compatible with 8.6.0.1?  I have seen an instance where a launchd process initiated a Lasso Crash.  But I have no idea why.  Still monitoring.

I know Lasso 8.5 used a StartUp item to launch and that Lasso 9 uses launchd to start up, but I'm not sure what Lasso 8.6 uses to start when the machine starts.

As far as I know, however, there should be no "compatibility" issues between launchd and anything. All launchd does is start processes when certain conditions are met.
